COVID-19 - Centre Information

Update 05/09/202 –

Over the last few weeks Trustee’s have continued to meet, discuss and prepare, for the re-opening of the centre.  We are aiming to open to some groups during October.  We have been busy updating policies and procedures to ensure that we are “Covid Safe”.   This we hope, will give confidence to our community, groups and hirers that as a responsible centre, we have done what we can to ensure the safety of everyone.

Trustee’s will hold another meeting on the 14th September.  We aim to finalise the revised processes and policies.  Once agreed we will begin to contact groups and provide access to our updated documentation via email with a link also available, here on our website.  Groups wishing to return, will need to provide a risk assessment, copies of paperwork that will be used etc. and will of course need to review and agree to the new terms and conditions.

We would like to thank you all for your continued patience and we will be in touch really soon.

Update 15/08/2020 –

Following a meeting of the Arleston Community Centre trustee’s last week, it was agreed that the centre will remain closed to the public.  A further meeting to review the decision is scheduled for early September.

The centre will, however, continue to support the communities of Arleston and Wellington by hosting the Telford and Wrekin Interfaith group.  The group have been working tirelessly to provide food parcels and breakfasts to those that qualify.

To offer support to families and young people, the centre will also be used to over the summer months to host the School Uniform scheme which aims to help those that require uniform ahead of the new academic year.

The Trustees continue to work closely with officers at Telford and Wrekin Council, ensuring that when Government Advice is clear on how community centres can begin to reopen for groups, that we are well-positioned to open safely and provide reassurance to groups that use our facilities.
